Over run bang and pos

Just had the remap done on my gen2 2004 RSVR with Akro pipes. When you shut off the throttle, the thing bangs and pops like a bowl of snap,crackle and pop. is this normal or is there something else needing done to cure this. Everytime you are on the over run, people are diving for cover

Sounds like it's running too rich, my Gen 1 was terrible for it, once i modded the airbox (EVO) and got more air into the system, it was fine

Do you think the TBs need done?. Tried putting the dB killers back in as the pops are too loud without them. I do not mind the noise when out in the country, but does become a pain when in town.

mine did that .... tb balance solved it and never done it since ... gen 2 bike

I think the type of map can affect it, as can an exhaust leak if only just fitted, though it will improve. Maybe get the dealer to confirm the map is correct and installed. I would expect the cylinders balancing at the time of mapping, definately with a full system.

But they will a pop bit anyway, especially low gear overrun from mid rpm
