Was out today with a mate on his BMW,and after a few hours of thrashing about I know I made the right choice of bike :yes,i did consider the BMW but its looks initially put me off :hmm2: so went for a Tuono and that was pure luck as it wasn't planned either, anyway the Tuono is quicker for sure in a out and out drag race and after swopping rides better on our lovely bumpy roads the BMW just feels hard and your off the seat at times :crazy in fact the only better thing about it is it does more miles to a tank where with the Tuono you don't ride past many petrol stations :eek:h

i've had the V4 toe to toe against current litre sports bikes and it hasn't been embarrassed....the AWC and QS meant i could pin it on back roads and pass a fireblade with ease.
When i first ran the engine in i had a play with a big bang R1 from 30 to silly speed and its rider wasn't amused that a naked bike was on his tail the whole way.
Test rode the S1000r....bored silly....good bike but oh so bland and characterless....TV4 shouts from the moment you start it up and with the Arrow GP can i have its just plain bonkers.
Only area the BMW etc has it over the V4 is on the brakes....the 4 pad system on my V2 are much sharper

Couldn't agree more. I was a Ducati man for many years, Monsters and 1098 Streetfighter prior to the Tuono. Character is what I love most. I had an S1000R demo for the day. Its certainly a quick bike when you wind it up, the electronics are good too but I wasn't excited by it at all. I gave it back after a few hours and was glad to be back on my Streetfighter.

The only thing wrong with the Tuono is Aprilia.

Amen.

Hi all. I replaced the front sprocket on my Tuono v4 to a 15. Must say it don't feel mush different. I dit the calibration. Just a quick question, what is the top speed on a standard v4,?

Well I have 'heard' that you get a speedo reading of between 167-169mph under the correct controlled conditions of course. Did the 15 tooth conversion myself this year and yeah I agree I didn't notice much difference.?? Strange!!??

Talking of those speeds when I had an 03 954 blade many years ago I saw 169 on the clock but had to shut off as running out of road, sorry track.

Good bikes those 954 blades, very light and agile especially on a private road :yes

Ueah my previous bike to my current touldo was a 954. Cracking bike but to harsh on the wrists getting to the twisties :(

Thanks guys, hopefully a can take her out this weekend and check for myself if weather permits. Seen 250km/h which happens so fast you don't really want to go faster on a naked bike. Cheers
