Did a trackday yesterday at oulton park which i have waited a long time to ride, the weather was a complete wash out except for the session before lunch which was bone dry. I went with my T on its michelin power pures which as you can imagine were a bit tricky to say the least in those conditions, my mates had theyre track bikes with wets and dry tyres ( gixer 1000 and gixer 750 )
i managed to just stay with them in the wet, only losing a second or so per lap, in the dry session though i absolutely creamed them both cos they didnt have time to change to dry tyres.
We ended up sharing a pit garage with Keith Flint from the prodogy and Mike ( the spyke ) Edwards who was giving Keith 1 to 1 tuition all day. Both really nice blokes and even got a few tips from Mike Edwards to boot, in fact it was him who said to us as we went out before lunch that "its bone dry out there nearly all the way round"
Also chatted to a guy further down pitlane on an 06 factory similar to mine who was going round in the novice group who'd just put a pair of cored cans on that he'd bought from NOB who used to be on here a lot and i'm sure a lot of you on here know well, all was going well till he unfortunatel binned it coming out of the chicane, luckily he wasnt too badly hurt and the crash bungs saved a lot of damage !
All in all a really good eventfull day out, and the 1 dry session i did get confirmed my thoughts that Oulton park is a magnificent track
