Standard fitment on a 2004 factory is indeed a 10amp battery. This is considered to be a little underpowered. It is possible to fit a 12amp battery of the same dimensions or a 14 amp which is slightly taller but fits with a few tweaks. I can't remember the battery numbers but if you do a search on here you will find the details. :thumbup
Why don't you go and see the guy who sold the bike to you = he obviously knew you were a ******, and deliberately sold you a bike with a duff battery.
