Ffs mucker a bet yer broke into a cold sweat after seeing that. :eek

Hmm,a graphic explanation why you need to check/grease the linkage dog bone bearings at least once a year.
Good job it failed at slow speed.

wow, thats certainly scary C, but as keith says, a good reason to check these things from time to time....

glad yer ok, and get the bike back soon.

close call loon.....nae good it happenned so far frae hame.

Aye classic case o seized up bearings thru lack o maintenance doon below.

Its actualy quite an easy job tae dae, just watch that you don,t push the wee needle rollers oot as they are all loose and a ******* tae find if ye drop one on the flair.

U must be gutted pal gud job u were going slow. had my T serviced at griffs the other week, he checked mine and they were bone dry and the bearings were shot, so had new bearings fitted, griff also showed me a previous customers whose had snapped same as yours obviously due to never being checked and greased yearly.

Jeez CTD, hope you are OK mate first & foremost? Its caused by seized needle bearings in the suspension linkages. My dealer told me to check mine having seen exactly this problem over the years! Just put new ones in this morning! Scary! New Dogbone with all the bits about £111 mate.

Hope you get it sorted, very lucky mate!

yep part was bought from my local dealer while i was waiting for the recovery at the side of an olive grove. just got to wait for the bike to turn up

Good stuff. Make sure you strip EVERY linkage point and grease up, if the bearings or bushes look shot replace them, not worth another snapped dog bone, mate.

looks like low rider, the way its strapped has lifted the rear of the bike a bit

Brilliant weather,eh, mate? Could have been worse broken down in Blighty in the persisting rain! Was goona ask if the factory t's been lowered, but that just wouldn't be funny!
Hope they get her home safe & sound.

How many miles has the bike done since the last linkage overhaul? be interesting to know how long they will go before failure.

bikes done 14000, dealer service history BUT is the linkage in the service to do list, ive never checked it myself
