Well foks its bad news im afraid :thumbdown, ive just this minute come off the phone speaking to the mechanic and they found more that was broken inside the engine :confused.
They found the clutch primary gear had snapped a few teeth and took with it part of the crank drive :scared:scared:scared:eek:, thats very bad !!.On the plus side though its all been fixed with new rings and they also put a new oil pump on :thumbup.

Im due to pick it up on saturday as he was puting it back in the frame today :thumbup, at least as the mechanic said it will be like a new bike and it has cost them a fortune in parts and labour , Just as well it cost them and not me eh. One fine day i will get her back for good :pirate

AWESOME! Hopefully you'll have a new engine inside there by the time you get it back. So fill me in on what happened exactly. You bought it all shiny and ready to go and then after 10 miles it started making noise or what? I saw the picture or it at the Honda dealer and it looks like new... what happened and how long did you get to ride it for??

Having just left Ducati for expensive mechanical reasons I would like to know the full tale as well. From the sound of this post thank god it was a warranty job! :woohoo

The saga exactly.......its a long story but when i picked it up ot was fine and in the 2 weeks i owned it i only went out on it 3 times. After a short blast it started to make loud noises from the engine but it ran fine.

All in all its been in the garage 7 weeks now and as i said it has been sorted now thank god, just one other thing is that part of the primary or crank was found in bits in the sump :scared, that could have been nasty .

Roll on saturday and let this saga end :thumbup

Its cost them a packet m8 not me and ive got a newly built engine that will run forever now :thumbup . The suspense of it all :pirate

It will be interesting to see how different the bike is with new rings and stuff, it should run like new now :woohoo

Look at it this way, it is better happening now than when the warranty runs out, the plus side is your motor should be fresh and sharp, remember the "Life of Brian".........always look on the bright side of life da dum, da dum, da dum, da dum, da dum:thumbup

i did not know you where that talented badger, a sing along aswell.

and of course looking on the bright side the weather has been crap lately:thumbup

Sweet and tight :devious, thats going to be good :thumbup. Now all i got to do is be gentle with her till its bedded in i guess :confused, with new rings and stuff will it need to be run in :confused or taken easy for a while . Dam i dont want to mess the bike up after such a long wait :scared

Boy I don't know if I would have the self control to break in an RSV engine! Make sure your tires are warm before you whack open the throttle, lol!

Ill be listening out for any abnormal noises thats for sure :thumbup something tells me to ride it a lot but in reality in i just want to take it home and wrap it in cotton wool :devious. Everything is crossed for saturday pick up, god only knows now .... oh the tyres im sure will be hot :devious:devious:devious
