Ok to remove battery from bike for a month or two?

Just wondering if it's ok to remove the battery from the bike and bring it inside for a month or two?. With the ridiculously low temperatures we have been having recently and forecasts saying there is another very cold snap on the way I was thinking about lifting the seat, removing the battery completely from the bike and bringing it inside for a month or two. Don't plan on riding the bike anytime soon and I'm not keen on having to fork out for another fooked battery next year so it would follow and make sense that bringing it inside where it is nice and warm and leaving it sat in a cupboard for a while is a good idea.

Any downsides to this?. I can't think of any but I might be wrong. Won't do the electrics/ECU any harm will it?. :dowhat

If you're bike is pre 04(1st gen) the chances are the mileage will reset
to zero, if that's no worry then you should have no other probs

Yeah, it's a 2000MY. Hmm, bugger that, not keen on having the mileage reset tbh.

We don't have a choice as it will be -25c here on Monday. Pretty scary when you have to worry about your antifreeze freezing...

So I'm ok to remove the battery and keep it inside, nice and warm then?.

Following on from this, what if you have an alarm fitted. (datatool evo 3). any problems leaving it without the main battery for a while.
