Hi a newbie here. anyone out there having problems with oil leaking rsv's. mines an '04 & have recently noticed some oil in the belly pan with the fairing off looks like its the oil tank leaking from the front bracket fastening. anyone know of similar problems & cost of repair?

yeah its a metal tank so should be able to get it welded, scratchin weathers nearly here so the less oil on that rear michelin the better.

The Oil tanks have been known to "weep" at the seams, not that common but there are 1 or 2 folk that this has happened to.
Also check the filler cap and the hoses .......................also make sure its not OVERFILLED and running out of the airbox.

I've had it happen on two tanks. One a hairline fracture/crack on the inside of the lower mounting bracket, the other an unexplained seep through the pressed edge. I can say that for the minor seeping, a spread of chemical metal does the trick.

To find the source in these instances needs a large cup of tea, a thorough wipe down, and a whole lot of patience whilst you wait for the mystery oil to appear. Happy hunting :)

Thanks for the advise guy's i have recently changed the oil & filter so will double check for overfilling & running out the airbox, but pretty sure its from around the mounting bracket area of the oil tank. best get that clean rag & a large cup of tea ready!!!
