Just cleaned the bike over after todays run out, and noticed that there is no oil showing in the sight window.
Engine is cold and I know this is to be checked when warm, but there is usually some showing when back on the track stand
Is this normal ?
I have never had to top it up before so which is the best oil to use.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

aye Taff min...oot fur a wee run then back hame...whapp it up oan the paddock stand,.....pause fur a min or twa then check. Top up wi 15/50 grade but go slowly, its easy tae over fill the buggers. Personally ah like tae keep the level aboot 20mm frae the upper limit.

Theres aboot a hunner threads oan the subject oan here if ye tak a wander thru...

Ditto Rico, Mine barely shows when on side stand & very easy to overfill which then gets dispersed into your air box & can clog things up in there. There is a wee spongy thing to absorb spilage but is about 2" X 1" SO WONT ABSORB MUCH BEFORE IT START GETTING into your air filter. I'd say overfill by 100ml & yr ficked.

I'll go with Rico, 20mm down is good. Tricky is correct, it will oil up the air filter.

I'm a lazy buga, so when I think about it, I check it while waiting at traffic lights etc. I have it off to a T now, lean over to the side and its easy to see. Run mine with the level about what Rico said.
