hi all,id like to give the aprilia an oil change.can i use 10w40,as i have a new can in the shed.i know the book spec is 15w50,but im a tight arse.:devious

I run 10w40 semi synth and have for sometime, I've noticed two things engine gets hotter a little bit quicker and sounds a little more mechanically noisey, neither of which cause any concerns or issues to the overall running/performance of the engine. But then I do change every 2500 miles without fail.

I always use the proper stuff but your engine your choice :eatcorn just use stuff that's designed for bikes as car oil can screw up your clutch.

My opinion, always use the recommended lubricants for your bike and the old bike indoors of course :D :D :D

My so called aprilia dealer told me that they had an internal email recommending 10w 40 so I've stuck with that the last few years. The guy I go to for any major work also uses 10w 40 he is very well regarded in this area and raced gen2 milles
