I'm sorry for the quick question, I have read through my user book but it is abit vague.

I have just changed my oil pressure switch without draining the oil. Question is I now need to top it up, Do I fill it between the low / high level and then run it or do I run it then fill up between the levels ?

run the bike until the fans have cut in twice, turn off and hold the bike upright, check the level it should be between the marks. Note if a little low top up slowly and with little amounts , it doesnt take much to over fill it.

The engine & oil needs to be up to temp before you can check.
If you are unsure, start bike up, and at tickover if you can't see ANY oil in the sightglass at all, add a little just so it starts to appear.
Then take it for a 5-10 mile run.
Check oil you immediately get off bike (hold bike vertical, not on sidestand)
Then top up accordingly (75% up sightglass)

I always check mine with a hot running engine.

Thank you, I brought the bike and it was supposed to have had a full service and full service history. Well upon removing the fairing the oil doesnt register on the oil sight at all and there is no coolant in the expansion bottle. Upon further investigation the rear cylinder head is new aswell there is no mention of this in the *full service history* im soo peed off :(

I would take it back to the dealer and complain, if that gets you no where there go to trading standards. I would be extremely concerned if the rear cylinder head had been replaced, these engines are pretty bomb proof.

the new head isn't necessarily a bad thing. if not properly warmed up the oil won't register on the oil sight, it is after all a dry sump, don't forget that. the coolant in the bottle could be as simple as a leaking hose (it happened on mine so...)
