Oil Tank drain plug washer

I think its a 6mm crush washer, where the hell can you get them from

Any ideas...............:confused
 
Either mine didn't have one on or I reused the same one without issue on the last oil change. It's in the back of my head that the mechanic at the dealers said they don't use a washer for some reason, just not 100%.
 
MMMMMM its got one on to stop you fooking up the thread on the tank so i would use one always, just cant find anywhere that sells that size
 
Hmm i am sure its normally a copper washer thats used, but dont quote me on it...:confused
 
Aluminium washer on our bikes by the look of it, copper would do to
 
try a triumph dealer as they use allly washers as well or Ebay has some for sale. Copper will work just as well.
Temp sensors use them also but i have replaced with copper without issue.

Done the oil change on mine friday and there's no washer on mine that got me thinking so rang a mechanic friend of mine and he said as DaveRSV said on certain bikes rsv included they don't use a washer

Engine drain plug dont have one but oil tank drain plug does on mine.....:dunno

I can confirm this as I was confused why one had a washer and the other didnt. So I contacted the dealer when i did my oil change who also confirmed oil tank yes, drain plug no.

Copper Vs Aluminium ...spose either will squashe to form a seal when torqued!!

PS This is on 04 (new shape Factory/mille) dont know bout the older one mind?

PPS when deciding to get the new longer oil filter...check to make sure it doesnt have one fitted already (or bring it with you to compare when buying the parts if u can)...I paid for the new filter and engine case to find it had already been done!!

By way of comparison, my 2000 Mille parts manual says the oil tank has:
  • Washer D8x16x1,5
  • Screw w/flange M8x16*
with no washer on the (engine) magnetic drain plug.
