Oil pressure problems!!!

Hi all .

I have an issue I would love to put to the group.

I have now done 2 trackdays on my Millie cadwell and snetterton 300 ( which is fookin awesome) and the nurburgring on all tracks when started up after a session the bike exhibits lack of oil pressure for about 10-15 secs. The oil light is on. The ! Lamp is on then after about 6 secs the efi lamp is on! All of this is in addition to a rattly top end indicating there genuinely is a lack of oil pressure.
After 15sec max all the lights go out, the engine goes quiet and normal service is resumed!

Engine oil correct 20/50 grade and genuine large oil filter etc.

When on road this is never an issue so it appears to be when the engine is properly hot??

Is this normal or am I being a girl?

Just dont want to fook up the engine :c)

Help?

start by replacing the oil pump? that is awfully strange what you're describing. It's definitely not good that the engine is being starved for oil even if it's just 10-15 seconds. According to the manual if the light doesn't go off after a couple seconds you're advised to shut it down. I'm sure there will be a lot more constructive responses other than my own, but if I were you I'd park it until you fix this problem.

I had a similar problem, not as bad as yours but when mine started the oil light would not go out on tickover for about 10-15 seconds unless you blipped the throttle, hot or cold. Since I gave it a full service this has now stopped & the oil light goes out as soon as the engine fires. Not sure if you got the correct oil, I've been told & use AGIP 15W-50, if that would make any difference though ?

correct grade is 15/50
but as the issue is only when the engine is up to working temp the grade you are using shouldn't be the cause.

i belive the millé does have known oil pump issues so this might not be a bad place to start

i would star with an oil change and put in either 10/40 or 15/50 and a filter as it sounds like oil starvation may be due to the oil being a bit too thick or it being knackered (the oil) check the filters in the oil tank as well. if it still does ity then start looking at the pump
