oil pressure light urgent help

hi just done an oil and filter change on my rsvr 02 took it out to check all ok but i did notice that when i turned the ign on the oil light didnt come on
i dont have a manual but i think the oil pressure switch is on the right hand side at the bottom of the engine with a purple wire i have checked it as much as i can i have voltage down the wire . i have a reading of 3.60 k ohms (i think)with ign on when i start it this goes up to 4.6-7 k ohms i think its a wiring fault/led fault more than engine because it would come on with ign if it was any ideas thanks cam
 
right if i earth the switch wire the light comes on but if i put it on the switch again it still doesnt come on i think its a dicky switch but i am supposed to be going out in the morning do i go or do i get a switch first has any one got one local to nottingham
 
Was it working before you changed the oil :dunno have you checked for loose connections etc Was the oil dirty, maybe the switch is blocked :dunno can you remove it to clean :dunno
 
to be honest i,m not sure if it was or wasnt working before oil wasnt too dirty dont think i can clean it out will try to get one tomorrow unless some one on here has a spare
