Oil Level Increasing

Hi

This is my first question as a newby to this forum, but it's something I haven't found in the search facility.

I've had a 05 RSV for about 14 months and it's been good enough to persuade me to get an 06 Factory (Cat D) as a track bike. Sadly last Sunday's run out wasn't very successful. The speedo packed up (appears to be fixed by cleaning the sensor and connections), it stalled a number of times when I stopped and when I got home there was oil comming out of the oil tank filler.

The bike was serviced (UFO in Huntingdon) 400 miles ago and I've checked the level as per manual on 4 or 5 occasions. When I checked again last night, the oil level was above max. It's like its grown half a litre in the last 8 weeks. I've seen this happen the other way on Milles, when one day the oil stops appearing in the tube, but am a bit lost with this one. Anybody got any ideas:dunno?

The radiator is still full and the engine temp was normal,so I don't think it's filling with water.

Thanks

No matter what you see in the sight glass when in the garage, the bike needs to be run for a few miles- thats doesn't mean ticking over in the garage. Mine always goes up and down in the garage but after a run its bang on.

it's maybe not the cheapest way to do it but i found my oil went down a lot in the four weeks it was left in the garage so i'm gonna make sure it's right by changing the oil. New oil filter ordered yesterday, 5 minute job when it arrives.

Iwe noticed that the oil level depends on the temperature.

If the ambient temp is 25 C or 16 C even the level is not the same even after 15 - 20 mins drive.

Volume is larger when the engine is warm and the ambient temp is hotter even the coolant temp is the same when you check the oil.
