oil filter on 05 rsvr

hi can anybody help, got a k&n oil filter off ebay, part no kn152, dropped the oil tonight with the intention of changing the oil filter as well, only to find the oil filter was to short, did a check on the web site, and it is supposed to be the correct filter for my model, has any body had this problem as well. the part number on the correct filter was rbx341 rotax x242 0929.:confused

kn152 seems to be correct part number. is it written on the filter or only on the box of the filter? anyway you do not have to change the filter every oil change. every 2nd or 3rd is ok. allthough it is so cheap that everybody changes it with the oil.

thanks mate, just pi*@ed off, was looking forward to doing it right, i will get the right one for next time as i have found the correct filter its longer 100mm, k&n dont do one.

there was an option to fit a longer filter, you had to buy the longer filter cover as well ..... cant remember why, oil filter production or a few race bikes having oil starvation but both short or long are fine.... if you dont have the orignal oil filter cover then yes you will need to buy the longer type filter or buy the orignal oil filter cover
