Lads,
have any Tuono gen 2carried out the option to fit a larger oil filter (length), if so why weren't they fitted as standard, just wondered, I know the Rotax engine is bullet proof if well maintained.

hi leslie , my gen 2 has the long filter and cover fitted , oil and hiflo hf 564 filter gets changed once a year with average 3500 - 4000 miles usage.

the Hiflo hf 564 is the correct filter for the cover in your pictures which I identical to mine . beware ( ebay search seems to favour the short type filter ) .

Hilift, I will measure mine when I get the bike, it has had a recent service, although the owner has not ridden it for a while.

I may change the oil and coolant as a precautionary action.

I know that the Gen 1 filter cover was smaller than the item on eBay, but I don't know if the later gen 2 models came as standard with the larger oil filters.

I think a tail tidy is in order as it has the original on the rear, just tooooooo big

I agree the standard tail effigy is way too big .!!!!

I looked at the r and g offerings and considered £ 35 way too pricey for a bit of bent metal .!!!!

so I made my own from a piece of anodised 4 mm ally sheet using the mounting of the original as a template . a bit of bending and cutting , hey presto an r n g replica costing pence and about 30 mins of my time !!!!

Hi Leslie

Griff from AP covered this in a video on FB a while back.
IIRC it was changed purely because Aprilia could not get any further credit with the supplier at the time, but could source a longer filter & cover elswhere... so that's what they did !
So not an improvement. ... just to allow them to keep manufacturing !

Check the vid, but I'm sure that was the just of it.
