My 2000 mille seems to deposits oil on the floor through the bellypan when its stood after a thrash. I've looked underneath with the plastics off and can't seem to find the source. This cant be normal? The oil level indicator tube seems to show the engine oil is fine. Any suggestions?:confused

Take bellypan/lower fairing panels off and go for a spin, put some cardboard under it when you get back. Lots of pipes for leaks so try and find the rough area and go from there :thumbup

I'll go and try that now. I presume the only oil it could be must be from the engine somewhere? What happens if the engine had been overfilled?

it'll spit out into your airbox. so remove your airbox and look for signs.
i had a similar experience and it spotted oil on the rear tyre as a result of overfilling

remember to check level, by running the bike for 20mins out of town then getting off and checking level, with engine running should be middle the diddle between high and low, not near the high mark

I've just been out and it looks like its dripping from the oil pressure switch? Is that the thing with the pink wire, screwed into the engine casing just infront of the back brake master cylinder?

The switch is faulty and leaks even after nipping up a bit more. I need a new switch. Any ideas the best place for parts?

Be very carefull with that switch and don't over tighten it 10.8ftlb (15nm) with blue loctite.
Try Southern cross for spares :thumbup

just a note agreat1, you need to switch the engine off to check the oil level and not leave it running, the levels will be different. Check immediately after switching the engine off. Maximum 2/3 up the sight tube after at least a 20 minute ride

Got my oil pressure switch from Yorkshire Aprilia. About £9.00 inc. postage.
Apparently they fail quite often!!

cheers legs

it does seem a stupid way of checking oil, if you ask me.... and with the view window on the left you can't even hold the front brake as you hold the bike level and bend down and look

bit of an oversight if you ask me!

Has your bit turned up mate :dunno, by all accounts Yorkshire aprilia aint that hot, just a warning not dealt with them myself just what i`ve read :thumbup

Funny you should say that actually..........no it hasn't and i want my bike for the weekend.
By the way. Does the oil filter need changing every time i change the oil?

It's the sensible thing to do otherwise you are running clean oil through a dirty filter.....unless you change it about every 2000 miles then IMO do the filter every other change.

don't want to worry you but i've been waiting 5 weeks for throttle cables from aprilia yorkshire(ultimate parts) seems they import direct from italian main dealer who orders parts from aprilia italy who then orders parts from manufacturing company who then orders some metal zzzzzzz you get the idea :(

Majorjam. Try Wareham Aprilia for the throttle cables. I got mine from there two weeks ago, and they had them on the shelf.

Timemachine bikes on ebay is another option. They are bike breakers and sell stuff at reasonable prices.

I have always found Yorkshire Aprilia to be a total nightmare. They carry zero stock and most stuff is a 1 month order time.

Well i live in Yorkshire and still wouldn't use them.
For the £9 cost of the part i would be asking for my money back and getting it from somewhere else.
Maybe it's time it became a Sticky thread not to order of these jokers.

Great! Thats ballsed my weekend up then. I best go and do some DIY to the house.......

Yeah think i'll cancell order next week, and ask for refund as they debited my cc straight away :( then i'll try some of the recommended suppliers :)
