The allen bolt next to the filter housing is the engine oil drain plug, its also magnetic.
Take it out aswell.
It takes about 3.7 litres of oil to refill.

you need to drain the engine and the oil tank
it is also important to clean the gauze on the oil pick up in the tank this is where the bottom hose connects to the tank.

3.7ltrs?

it takes more than 4 ltrs with a filter change

have a look HERE

Neither of the RSV's ive owned have taken over 4 litres of oil, The last full change I did took 3.75 and that was after leaving the bike for an hour to drop dry. Originally I put 3.5 in and topped up to the correct level.

mmm yes the book says 3900cc's which is 3.9 ltrs.

thats interesting as 4ltrs in mine doesn't take the level above the minimum mark after an oil and filter change and i know someone who had the same issue.

and thats checked hot.

All I can operate on is experience, ive done 4 changes and never needed more on either bike. Theres still a bit oil left in the bottom of the bottle too. One for Scooby Doo and the Mystery Machine lol

done it today took 300ml out of the 4ltr can and poured the rest in..wouldnt take anymore it was full too the cap, still is..cant start it the now as collectors not fitted on downpipes and neighbours complain enough with exhaust on lol..but i assume it will get drawn too wherever it goes when i start it up..
