how do sachs compare to ohlins . my rear shock (ohlins)the lower mount/ride height adjuster has snapped, i have priced up a new mount which is £30 +vat not so bad but after taking out the threaded bit from the base of the shock it has taken the threads out as it has a spring loaded pin at the top (stupid idea) now i have been speaking to the guys at kais very helpfull and the proper way of doing it is to replace the whole chrome rod which is £120 for a service. cant afford the service so do i get a sachs one off ebay or put in a new lower mount either helicoil the upper bit or drill through both bits and bolt it so it wont come out

what to do ??????????

Well generaly known is that sachs shock is ****...

BUT, there is one older man, with stock 99 aprilia (not R) with a sach shock efcorse, that laps about 10sec quicker times than me on my ohlins(and im not the slowest one).. So I gues it does the work.

Few days ago he raced his bike, he was 2nd, first was a friend on a factory, way behind this two were al the ducatis 999, 1098, rc8 and so on...

What im trying to say is, it apears is not as **** as everybody thinks and it definitely wont slow you down.

The man also convinced me(well his results) not to upgrade my suspension, but rather invest in some tyres :), so I can catch him :D

sry.. missed your point... Dont know if they are compatible :)

Well mate, its like shopping at asda's or shopping at harrods, end of..:devious:thumbup

personally i think its ****, as standard, you can get a decent setup out of it, or get it resprung slap an ohlins spring in there, have it reconditioned and setup on the bike, thats your best option to be honest.
