Hi Just wondered if anyone can tell me how to fit an ohlins steering damper to my 2008 RSVR.

Pictures would help me very much!

Cheers

Hi, with the damper i have got i only have one of those flange washers which is on the underside, then when i bolt the damper to the headstock it is quite loose with the damper being bolted down in both places

I had the same problem, if you have a freind with a lathe it will be no problem to make one. Ohlins supply the part so you wont be able to get it from aprilia.

Hi,

Thanks for the replys mate, i bought the damper second hand, and i only got one of those flange washers and some manky bolts, do you not think i could buy Part 17 on that link, i think it comes with the flange washer and a new bolt for 50p?

Thanks again

Nick

I had the same problem when i bought a second hand damper.
I know you cant buy those top hats from Speedaway as i've tried. Managed to get some of cheesy. Other option is to make them like the above post, or try Dave Phillips from Aurok ltd as they are Ohlins suppliers
They're based in Alton, Hampshire 01420 588 191
Failing that the give Harris a call and good luck with that

Ill ring them, i have the bottom washer, just wondered if it would work with that?, if the damper is meant to be loose where it bolts onto the headstock, if it was tight it would work itself loose when you turn the handlebars?

The whole assembly does feel lose when it's all fitted. For the steering i would use the washers that should be there.
