ohlins shock bushings

have all the aprilia bushings sorted for the mille.. new bearings throught the entire shock linkage and new bushing for the swingarm pivot.. was about to re-assemble when i noticed some corrosion on the bottom of the ohlins shock.. and need some help diagnosing whether it's safe to go ahead and use them, as i've went to such an extent to make sure the backend is 100% i want to make sure that it's safe to re-use these bushings.. corrosion is external the internal diameter is free from corrosion and super smooth.. the bushings are solid in the shock are they meant to be able to rotate or are they meant to be static?

They are spacers to take up the gap in the dog bone plates.They are pressed in and can be quite tight,but you should be able to turn them and get them out.Personally,I'd be taking them out to inspect just how bad the corrosion is.

yeah popped them out shortly after i posted this.. the corrosion is actually isolated to the edge you see there which seats against the felt bearing seals.. which is always good news.. gave the rough edges a file down and fired some silver enamel over the outer edge in an effort to help prevent further corrosion.. i think i may replace them and the bearing over winter but at this point in time it will be thrown back together once the paint has dried and the swingarm will be going back into the bike 2moro evening all being well

just threw the lower shock mount back together there.. looks dead on now..

Felt washers on a quality bit of kit is just *****.

Its in one of the dirtyest places on the bike.

I am sure Ohlins could have thought of a better way to seal the lube in & keep the muck out.
