Ohlins Forks advice

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on the Ohlins forks fitted to the early 'R' models as I want to fit them to my Ducati Monster.

1) Do they suffer from any particular faults/problems?

2) Could I have some dimensions such as diameter etc please

3) Axel size?

4) Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks for any help!

No real faults, just dont over torque the spindle clamp bolts or they can crack at that point of the mounting, very expensive.

Diameter is 51mm

Axel size i have just measured the diameter of mine and it is 25mm, all wheels are interchangeable on the mille, Mine is an 06 with OZ's

These are basic road and track ohlins forks and dont really give problems apart from the seals going on a regular basis, but there are ways to fix this easily.

Thanks for the reply.

Are they 51mm all the way? (I ask because my current forks are tapered) any ideas on the length too?

Thanks!

51mm at the top yoke, they are tapered.

TBH my bike is an 06 and although the top yoke size is the same on them all it would be better for you to get a reply from someone with an early R model to confirm the sizes, although i am pretty confident they are the same apart from the caliper mounting on the bottom of the fork leg.

I am sure someone will come along with your info

Now i'm thinking it might be easier to swap the complete front end including wheel
