Ohlins damper product code?

Right chaps, time to get a damper sorted before I fling it into a hedge.

Been on Ebay and there are quite a few on there but the product codes are various, as you'd imagine.

Anyone help me as to the code for an 04 plate old style standard Mille please?

RSV Ohlins Steering Damper

Hi

I happen to have taken one off a bike yesterday, and it's in my hand. The stroke is 63mm, and overall length is 245mm. Looking at the Harris (Ohlins Importers) web site, that makes it an SD115. Have a look at the site. The fitting kits for Japanese bikes seem to all use an SD121, so that's their universal part. There's no fitting kit listed for Aprilia, so I assume the 115 fits straight on.

Mine's for sale, along with a Renegade air box conversion and a full renegade 2 into 2 exhaust system, road-legal with removable baffles. Email [email protected] if interested.

ps I've taken the damper off every Aprilia I've had. I'm no racer, but have never ended up in a hedge....

That's great mate thanks a lot. I'll PM you re the sale of the kit. As for the beckoning hedge; Ive changed the sprockets and dropped the forks (hasn't everyone). I p'raps need to back off a bit then until I get used to it........or fit a damper and have a laff instead of shitting myself.

Yes it will.

Apparently, the standard 00-03 Mille Ohlins (with the mounting bracket cast into the main body) is an SD133 with a stroke of 63mm and both holes 6mm. I've checked the headstock/fork mounting points on mine and confirmed the thread is 6mm.

Phoned Harris who say they are unsure if the universal (adjustable mounting bracket rather than fixed cast) Ohlins SD115 with a stroke of 63mm will fit, as the 'stand off' on the adjustable bracket might be too much and foul against something. :confused

here come the dumb question, whats wrong with the standard one fitted to the bike. mine looks nice and red! is it crap. seems to work ok for me?

Mine doesn't have one at all mate. Either the previous owner sold it or, as I suspect, the standard Mille didn't come with one in 03/04?

I'd go with Bagel on this one. My 03 had an Ohlins unit on it when I bought it, the owner said it didn't have one fitted so he bought one.
