If your bike was 04/early 05 they had faulty clocks which lost the mileage whenever batt power was removed.

You will just have to keep service records to prove mileage to prospective buyers down the line.

ahhh **** it. mines on a 53 plate so i take it its in that bracket. only thing is it has NEVER had the battery taken out or even disconected. it happen when i tried to reset the trip 1 back to zero to check for fuel consumption....

any way i can get it sorted or is it for life?

when you say 03 do you mean sept 03 new shape ?
That was the point the problem started and faulty clocks were a warranty issue. As it's now out of warranty not much you can doo about it.

Earlier bikes i have not heard of losing mileage.

BOLLOX

yes mines an early new shape one....

i have a 3 month warrenty thing with the dealer i got it off of recon i could scam it off of that? :dowhat

I bet your asking yourself is 5000 the original mileage.

You got MOT Documents before you brought the bike?

yeah but... i dont know how may miles was on the clock when it reset...nor how many ive dont since it reset.... ive got a slight clue but NOT exact i've filled up like 5 times so that must be about 500 - 550 miles i guess...

same with you?

All the records i have of the bike match the mileage, im sure its correct as the bike is mint. I brought the bike with 9.5K on clock. Since mine reset ive done approx 1500 miles and i log it all just incase it resets again.

Mine reset after i fooked about with all the eletrics, had it disconnected from the battery for weeks on end in the winter with no problems before. :dunno
