Can you get replacement seals for them ?

without sending the unit back like MPL slaves

cheeeeeers

I'm not ... just wanted to know before buying the slave cylinder .... sending things back and waiting to get them sucks ... especially if you need to use ya bike ... probably get the seals elsewhere cheaper tbh

I got the Oberon in preference to MPL because there are several reports on forums of issues with seal failures on the MPL. Still not found anyone talking about issues with the Oberon one.

Rob :)

yeah ....had my mpl 4 years and it started leaking a few months ago ... got new seals for that free 2 years ago and fitted them ...seems OK now but like the Oberon unit so will probably get one :D

Does the oberon slave loosen up over time?? mine has done about 500miles but feels stiff and after a few hrs of riding my left hand is on fire... I also have to have the clutch lever set on no.1 my preference is no.2 but feel its not engaging fully on setting 2.

no idea about the oberon but the mpl clutch slave seriously lightened the action of the clutch on my rsv... one of the main reasons i wanted to buy one.. as my standard slave made the clutch action heavy as anything...

agree having to send it back to be serviced sucks monkeys although i've kept my old one in the event that i should need to return it and still need to make use of my bike

The Oberon slave that I fitted definitely improved the smoothness and lightness on my clutch. Also, the fluid doesn't turn black anymore.

Are you sure the heaviness you're experiencing isn't being caused elsewhere?

Well possibly.....

Maybe I haven't bled it quite right..

I put freshly opened dot 5 fluid throughout and its starting to go darker already, but that possibly due to slightly dirty hoses, I will flush them through again.

Do you find that to find your clutch biting point you have to have the lever almost fully out??

I hope you meant Dot 5.1 ?
I have an MPL and the Fluid goes black in that, nothing to do with dirty hoses but to do with heat and aluminium.

I use a vacuum bleeder on the both clutch and brakes. still need to redo the clutch every 1000 miles or so.

No my biting point is in about the middle of the stroke of the lever... sounds like there is still air in the system possibly..

Well, my biting point is when the lever is nearly fully out...always has been since new. As long as it neither slips or drags, then there's no problem.
