I've been out riding with a few mates recently (they ride r1,gsxr 6,sp1 etc)and mentioned i've bought an open (hooked) airbox conversion..the blank looks i get trying to explain and not being able to show them :jack.

so i spent an afternoon in the father-in-laws shed and made some quick release pins...now i can show off that thing of beauty :inlove my hooked airbox

cool or what and i know what your thinking....you need to take the seat off to lift the tank :devious

instant access all areas...thought i could use these on the 2 bolts at the front of the bellypan as well

your thoughts gents????

silly question is the one never asked so here goes....... are they just sawn and drilled bolts?

i'll get my lid lol

i can make you a set no probs..:devious

and yes to the other question...not sawn but turned down on a lathe and drilled stainless bolts but not everybody has the facilities or inclination:dunno

something i've been meaning to make for ages along with the modified collectors...finally getting my arse in gear.

you wait till i make the retaining cables that hold the pins when you pull them out they will be even cooler then:thumbup

got mine from rsvr.net when i ordered a load of other bits earlier in the year

yeah shame it went down the pan....was a good place to deal with...never got round to buying the pins hence made my own ....and anybody else's:devious p.m. me

I could do with some quick release pins for my seat and tank, defo need the pin keeper wire though as those damn R clips are sneaky little buggers and run of if you turn your back on them.

I'll send you a PM mate.

there's me thinking that dzus quick release for my fairing might be too tempting for light fingered people

No worries Alan..need a couple of weeks to get the bits together...its going to be crimped stainless 1mm rope covered in silcon tubing..and yes i can do the silicon in blue :biggrin... and red, black and yellow:thumbup

judging by the pm's i've had i'm going to be a busy boy

Put me down for a tank and seat set mate, don't post them we'll exchange cash for goods on our next ride out. :thumbup

PS. No tassles on mine or the deals off. :doug
