Completely, utterly PHENOMENAL !! :doug:doug:doug

My new beast was finally delivered today, after biting my nails pretty much down to my elbow, and WOW, what can I say ??...............

WHAT A BIKE ! I absolutely LOVE this thing. The looks, the power, the handling, the braking (apart from the back brake LOL), the sound...............everything comes together on this bike as an amazing package. :thumbup

The blo*dy thing is absolutely ballistic, with masses of torque, and the handling and balance is absolutely beautiful. Hell...........the thing is even comfortable, despite me thinking it would be some sort of torture-chamber toy, after sitting on it in the shop last Sunday, but when you`re on the move, I find the riding position just perfect for my (shortish) 5`9 frame, with the stretch to the bars putting your weight just nicely over the front, but without crippling your wrists, and the footpegs again being just right without inducing leg-cramps.

Okay, I have to be honest here (although I think I`ve said already in my other thread :devious), that I`ve had an enforced 5 year break from bikes, so probably anything with any sort of serious(ish) power was going to feel quick, but the RSVR definitely feels quicker than my last bike, which was a 2000 Fireblade. It`s got to be down to all that torque ?

Bad points: Nothing to mention really, apart from the infamous back-brake, although the front is so good anyway, that the back`s almost redundant, and the heavy clutch, maybe, but I just need to toughen up my clutch-hand, and things`ll be fine........! :thumbup

In short; what a fantastic bike, and one which I hope to own for quite some time now......

Same here Dexter had mine 3 weeks now, went out on my previous bike for a spin other day and it felt like a riding a waterbed ,

Fantastic machines

had mine for over 3 years now and i still Love it, still makes me grin when i go out on it

Glad ya like it matey

Awesome news chap! Glad you like it, i also have an 2004 RSV its a fantastic machine.

I also had rear brake issues (like everyone else) and ended up relocating the master cylinder when fitting my gilles rearsets. That was three weeks ago and i still have a rock solid brake :biggrin

If your bike was from a shop im surprised they released it without making sure the back brake was bled and working properly, after bleeding it normally lasts a few weeks before problems start occuring in my experience.

Enjoy mate :thumbup

Congrats mate, had mine 2 weeks and still grinning like a cheshire cat.:biggrin
Just built a new garage all for her:inlove
Who cares about the back brake (except at MOT time) it makes it a bit more interesting when you overcook it into the corners:thumbup

Is that right?

I was looking at replacing my clutch master cylinder with a radial Brembo but if MPL are doing them I may wait.

Have you got a link?

MPL delivered the next day...awesome, just gotta fit the ff'er now with the uprated brembo rear and gillies, performance mods next!

Update: I got mine direct from them 90pounds inc P&P great service, also cheaper than what they are going for on Ebay,,,,

I'm a dedicated BMWGS rider of some years - great bikes especially for the regular continental trips I do on mine. It's comfortable, can take the kitchen sink and does long miles quickly.
However, it seemed rather lonely on its own in my garage - so I got a 2004 1000R for fun and track days.
It's awesome! No other word for it. And, it's gorgeous. Love it .......................
