nosecone with 'ears' onto a 2000 mille

does anyone know if a nosecone with ears, specifically like this one, would fit onto a 2000 mille R that normally doesn't have the ears?

would the headlight be the same and it all fit to the sub-frame etc?

Nick, having done exactly that to my 2000 r, i can confirm it will fit on your front subframe just fine, although the 98-00 headlights are a slightly different shape to the 01-03 items so you will need to buy a later headlight. Apart from that though, its plug n play dude

not sure i want to go to the expense of the headlight as well though, do you think it really improved the look of yours?
 
There's a link somewhere in the ether that shows how to fit ears to the older fairing. I'm sure one of the longer-standing members will be able to point you in the right direction.
 
thanks alan :thumbup but it's not that i specifically want to fit the ears, i have a crash damaged nosecone so thought this might be a good replacement.
 
scrote, i personally think the 01 onward headlight looks a bit meaner, so if you can pick up a newer shape light for reasonable money, i'd grab that nosecone and whip it on :thumbup

probably a bit late now but rsvkwackers (neil) on here was trying to shift nosecone with light for a ton. not sure if he's still got it. maybe worth a punt:dunno

i've done HID dipped on mine and modded the wiring loom with a diode to keep dipped on with main, are the connectors and bulbs etc the same?

i've just fitted a 2001 front end on mine and it looks the ballocks!!!......i'll get some photos up tomorrow!!
 
I would say the 01 front end looks the best. I fitted the ears to my 99 but the headlight just didnt look right.

Keep an eye on the bay, I've seen soem cheap 01 healights lately
 
The stock headlight loom connectors are the same for both types of light mate, but IIRC, the early type has an H4 dipped beam bulb whereas the later type has an H7 bulb.

the 2000 deffo has an H4 because i mistakenly ordered an H7 and had to send it back and exchange it. thanks for the reply :thumbup not the end of the world to get an H7 bulb off the bay i suppose
