Thinking about getting this as a tourer. Anyone out there have one? Thoughts?

I believe they are like an FJR1300 or similar.... not seen one on the road but have read about them quite some time ago

I've heard good things about it and if forced to ride a sport tourer it would be my first pick. A bit more unique and less bland than the usual (and extremely blad) sport tourers. I'd rather do something lighter though. A FZ1 for example is pretty darn comfy and a whole lot lighter weight/faster/better handling. A duc MTS would also rank highly with me. For that matter a tuono would suit me just fine. I've managed pretty well touring on my TLS and my dad's 919 too. 90 deg twins are sweet though and it will sound very nice. The new Stelvo has GS-ish look to it and may also be worth looking at. Anyhow, perhaps once I'm older I'll appreciate plastic-wraped tourers. :laugh

Thanks for the input, and I understand what you mean when you say that you may appreciate it more when older. I am a very healthy 50 and I have the blood of a sport-bike rider always going for the lightest most powerful and best handling machines. But when I looked at the jap crap the only one I would consider is the FJR1300 or the new Kawi Concours, but still those look like boats and heavier than I want. The reason I want a pure breed sports tourer like the Norge, is that I want the Mrs. on the back for long rides, it's a v-Twin, and the fit/finish look good. My Tuono has the rear pegs removed and I just never envisioned a passenger on that machine. The Multistrada is just a compromised Tuono to me, but a very nice machine to ride for sure. another one I would consider is an R1200GS
