Hey ppl.

It's great to see a forum for RSVs and everyone here seems really helpful.

I've just sold my 2004 CBR600 RR and I'm looking at an RSV. I have always wanted an RSV, a lot of people say their dream bike is a duke but mine is the RSV!!

Is the the sound as good as people say it is???

As the RSV is an Italian thoroughbred I was wondering if its more to maintain and service?

I am looking at a 2000 - 2002 model as I;ve only got £2500 to spend.

welcome mate, I think you'll find that servicing is comparable with most other marques.

Have fun

:thumbupWelcome mate, i had a cbr600rr 2004 model from new,it was one of the first batch in uk.Put a akro exhaust, powercommander,k+n and set up on dyno with one tooth less on front sprocket. Was like a new bike, loved it, just bit small but missus feel asleep on back, strange.
I not long sold my blackbird and i was toying with a duke or RSV,did my homework and the duke was going to cost to keep on road, belts ect and in my veiws not that easy to service then the RSV.
Brought a 2001 RSV100R with losts spares long mot +tax for £2000, not fast as blackbird but a lot more fun and the noise is ***,need that badger air box mod:biggrin.Serviced it and it is so piss easy to work on,fairing comes off so easy, just need the weather.
I was only interested in the R model,i think for the little extra you pay you get a lot more for your money, ohlins steering damper, forks ,shock,oz wheels and the carbon extras.Would cost a lot to add them to standard RSV.
Not too good at slow pace and around town likes the open roads, but i am sure the duke would be the same. Can do a fair wack of miles on it and still walk,go for it just keep the battery in top nick and you will always have a grin:biggrin

There you go, all said above.
Change gearing put a jet40 mod , airbox, keep batt tip top and if your feeling flush a mpl clutch slave and you will love it, i am so much faster on the ape than on my old suzuhondkawayam crap.
Hold out for a RSVR cos you will want ohlins and oz for definite (i do)

Welcome

Yes it does sound as good as people say. That's why I have 2 Apes

Sevicing, I'm on my 14th and 15th bikes and these Apes need no more servicing than any other.

Welcome gunuk, £2500 will get you a good mille, RSVR for a bit more, but then as said you do get ohlins suspension and Oz wheels :devious. Depends how you ride as to whether you will benefit from the extra's they come with, but whichever you go for they're both excellent bikes :thumbup

If the one you get has the standard can, swap it for a Akrapovic :pirate

If you want to check out the 'sound' there's loads of Mille clips on You Tube.. The V-Twin throb makes in-line 4's sound like scooters!

Welcome to the fine world of Aprilia RSVz matey..git yerself on one soon & enjoy!

:doug welcome and yes the rsv is the poop.just ask anyone who has one or two like i do not too brag just love them 02 & 07 check out the pics on my album it has all the three I have all but the black one .I traded it in for the 07. miss it thuogh:pirate

Go on mate, you won't regret it. They're crap round town, tolerable on the motorway, awesome on the open road, and brilliant on track. They ain't the fastest thing in a straight drag but you won't find much that'll slingshot you out of corners quicker.

Welcome mate.

£2000 should buy you a nice one, not too many for sale at the moment but once the weather starts improving they'll start popping up for sale like daisies in your back garden.

£2400 I paid for mine

Silver 02 model on an 03 plate with 6k miles on it and twin pipes and a bubble screen fitted. There's some bargains out there, tis a right buyers market right now so getting a decent one is well within your price range for sure :thumbup

Tony TT, thats some good smooth and flowing riding there mate, and sun shine as well!! which summer was that one then?? Good stuff!!

Tin tin that was at the last TT shame about the **** in the lexus.
I would have hit a good 160 down the mountain mile.
