Next step for more performance??

Hi there, Im the very proud owner of an 04 RSV and as usual am looking for that extra bit of performance.

So far i have fitted -Leo Vince slip on pipes
-Evo Air box kit
-intake flapper valve kept open
-Power commander, dyno tuned
-42 tooth rear sprocket
-dynojet quick shifter on the way.

Any suggestions on which way i should go next for some extra power would be great,

Cheers

drop 2 teeth of the front sprocket too matey.
youve done as many of the common mods i know about without getting to silly money.
larger throttle bodies?

remove the flapper and smooth down the intake, it makes a noticeable difference in comparison to just having the flapper stuck open (basically free to do)

look into nitrous oxide injection kits (probably around £800 total fitted)

lose weight, fit any carbon fibre parts you want, possibly set of OZ wheels (£40 - £????? depending how far you want to go...)

and the ultimate... fit a supercharger (anything between £2-5k)

like big un said, there is more 'oomph' to be had by changing the gearing more

its all down to how much power you want, how much you wanna spend, how far your willing to go,where you want that power i.e mid range, lower down, top end ect,how you like it to make that power i.e waiting for a turbo to spin up,the lower mpg of a supercharger thats constantly on.....
have you tried a zx10? lol

exactly, some would be satisfied with a honda cub 90 and some are not even satisfied with a Y2K jet engine bike

i would say the most important thing is making your bike yours, improve what you feel needs improving in ways which are available to you

every person is unique, most bikes are not, until you make them your own :thumbup

As far as I know, the 2004 model, the newer shape as I call it, already have 57mm TB's.

Camshafts would probably be your next step forward for more power, but as Bigun says, it all depends where you want the additional power in the curve :thumbup

Big-un's suggestion as to dropping a couple of front sprocket teeth is very much on target. :thumbup You might think about only dropping down one tooth instead of two though. The Aprilias are very "long legged" (geared tall from the factory) and can definitely stand the change. I note that you've already gone up two on the rear, and, dropping two in the front, will change the cruise rpm to pretty "high". Big-un can probably give you specifics.:yes

Question- How do you like the Leo Vince? I'm on the border between the Leo Vince and an MIVV. Both similar in cost.

I take it your bike is the newer model 2003.5 onwards RSVR? If it is, your standard gearing is 16/40. As you've gone 2 teeth up on the rear to a 42 tooth rear sprocket, the next mod is to fit a 15 tooth front sprocket. This makes for what is considered the best road gearing.

Have you had MAP2 activated and the throttle bodies resynched by your aprilia dealer? This is a must if you have open or race cans fitted. Bear in mind you'll need to have a remap for your power commander once MAP2 is activated.

You should have around 125 to 130 rwhp at this stage. Do you really need any more power for the road? A full suspension set up and some sticky tyres would be a better bet

just get a moto gp bike or the ducati desmocedici rr £35.000 you will still get stuck behind a mama going to primark at 27 mph lol

join the RAF and fly jet fighters if you really want speed

no slow car drivers then :D

after sitting at dunlop bridge watching stoner going by at 150 in the wet front wheel in the air with the engine deafingly loud nearly makes your ears bleed i thought mmmmmmmblue flame evos akras whats the point

Thanks for all the replies guys, sorry bout not being able to answer a couple of questions sooner, time zone down under to blame for that.

It is the current shape and i have been very happy with the leo pipes, they sound great without being over the top. My only complaint is that the titanium finish marks very easy from pillion passenger heels, more of a footpeg design problem than the cans though.

The supercharger sounds bloody good to me but a little out of my budget...
I have been considering new cams but havent found any info at all on after market replacements, part supply in Aus can be difficult as well.

I have had the map set to number 2 but no the throttle bodies havent been sinchronised since new.

I will look into getting that done straight away and if anyone has any info on cams that would be great.

Also i do accept that it already has enough power for the road but i just cant help myself!!
