Hi got myself a 2000 mille on friday ,are brembo master cylinders prone to leaking as the clutch fluid is dirty and it wont go into neutral
Also im going to use a tiptronic shifter (came off 98zx6)are there any problems using one (fuel injection?) this is my first non jap bike , its going tobe a keeper cheers

Welcome m8 Neutral has always been an issue for these bike even the secon gen are still ify a good bleed and good adjustment can help and the clutch needle mod helps again aprilia kept changing the size of the jets to help Aprilia performance has the proper jet for sale check oot their web site. the only problem with the quickshifter is making sure its a linear type as there is no gear linkage to connect into does the tiptonic quickshifter use a pc3 or is it standalone???? iv'e fitted a quickshifter one to mines and had some problems setting it up.. Just make sure you have plenty of oil in the bike as the gearbox doesn't like a badly set up quick shifter, hope this helps a bit and enjoy....

as goatie says mate, get the thing bled correctly and change the oil jet to help out the nuetral selection - oil doesn't take long to look dirty, it's not a prob though. Splice straight into the coils and bobs yer mothers brother for the QS :thumbup

Deacs :thumbup

Aprilia Performance bloody good site ,will get a jet ,quick shifter is early one with little adjustment, worked well on ZX6 as long as you changed gear high up the revs, was going to connect to the original lever verticaly some where! going to be track only tool, has rsvr rear shock will have ractecs 180? cheers again

Get a pc3 for it m8 then get the dynojet quickshifter lots of adjustment and you can change the rev limit i picked up both for £160 had to wait a while tho, racetecs are the bomb for these bikes i'm running a set of michelin power ones with the v front and what a tyre have always been a metzeler man but these things are the ticket good luck wi it m8 once you set up the susses the thing will out corner alot of inline 4s.....

Welcome mate! The reason the clutch fluid looks dirty after about four weeks from fresh is that the master and slave cylinders are aliminium and the the pistons polish them causing black residue ( same effect when you polish aliminium with autosol!) The fluid is ok even if it looks black! Neutral is a pain to get on 1st and 2nd generation bikes! a trick to use is to select neutral from 2nd gear, much easier to get than from 1st!

Yep, I always go down to Neutral from 2nd gear... MUCH easier. If you really get stuck then it will go in like a "normal" bike with the engine switched off.
