Hi Guys, I'm new to this Forum.

The reason I joined ? - simply because I've always loved the Tuono and I am now at that stage where I will be looking for my next bike and will be looking to buy one in the next couple of months after chopping in my much loved Gixxer K7 1000 (if anyone is interested ! haha).

The predicament I have at the moment is deciding whethere to go with the 2013/14 model (where bargains seem to be in abundance at the moment with dealers looking to clear showrooms), or wait until the new APRC V4 is launched. The trouble I have is it's at least a 40 minute ride to my nearest Aprilia dealer, and I really need to try the Tuono first before I buy. The last naked bike I had was the Kwak Z750..............

I guess you can grab a really good bargain on the used market at the moment but what puts me off about last years model is the basic matte black or white colours. Can't say I'm a fan unfortunately. I saw earlier another user on here , "Manfred"? - who seems to have a Tuono in RED - That looks the business to me..........

In addition, I have been to the NEC and London bike shows recently and have climbed on board the new 2015 SuperPole colours and have fallen in love. But £14k+ though, really ?

Anyway, for now, I shall continue to drool over pics of your bikes until I can gather some more info and ideas for colours.......

Welcome.

Respray is not that expensive, if you are saving 1-2k then paying £500-700 for a decent paint job to get it how you want.

Really boils down to if you want the 1000 or 1100.

don.t let the hard seat put you off if u test ride,,i had a comfy fazer thou and never test rode before bought my yellow 2013.rode away from stealers and thought oh feck what av i done .18 mths and 5500 miles later every time i get off this bike i say jeez what a bike.the sound on gear change with quick shift is banging ..i had sports bikes before the fazer ..this bike is the dogs...

Welcome Darth,
I am totally with you regarding the matt finishes and the new colours on the 2015 model, but thankfully I love twins so don't need to go and sell my soul for a V4.
Whichever one you end up with enjoy it.

I'm with Bosko...2014 model with respray of your choice....It really is an awesome machine, fortunately I love mine in matt black

I got a cracking deal on a pre reg 2014 APRC Tuono in matte white, I personally think the matte white looks ok, however, once you ride the thing colour fades into insignificance, until I got my Tuono in January i had always had sports bikes mainly Fireblades. the. Tuono is awesome, the sound is spine tingling and the quick shifter is something else. I personally would not pay £14k for the 2015 model.

Welcome to the forum Darth, I can only tell you that living approx 12hrs by ferry and 2 .5 hrs drive from my nearest Aprilia dealer, that I had never tried or even set eyes on a V4R before I took the plunge and bought one, hadn't even seen the bike in person as only on the dealers web site, the bike arrived off the ferry and I've never looked back, absolutely awesome bike :biggrin love the quick shifter, if you can decide on a colour then I'm sure you'll be a happy boy :)

Thanks for all of your responses people, really much appreciated. I quite fancy the idea of the 2014 model for what is 3-4k less than the new 2015 model. By getting a re-spray sounds like a good idea, but don't you have to declare these things to your insurance company nowadays ???

which brings me onto another point - Wraps...... are these a good idea, or is a respray by far the more ideal ...?

Hi Darth,
I only have an opinion which isn't based on any experience so please feel free to ignore it but personally given the choice I would paint it. I would never trust the longevity of a wrap plus I'm not sure how they would polish up after the Sunday morning hose down.
