Hey everyone,

I am new to the RSV world. Just picked up a nice 2002 RSVR yesterday and hopefully the pic link works!

All is good with the bike apart from a gash rear brake. It seems to be binding quite a bit, and when I was pushing it in the garage it was making a shrieking noise! I was thinking of changing the pads and disc, to see if that helps. I have seen on the forum, that it is a common fault having a crap rear brake.

Any other tips if the disc and pads dont cure it?

Other than the back brake the bike is awesome, the exhaust sounds amazing! Im looking forward to setting her up properly and having an amazing season next year!

Any other tips on RSVR's would be really welcome, as I said Im a newbie :)

Cheers.

sounds like the rear caliper is seized, a strip down, good clean and new pads if needed should sort it, you still will have a crap rear brake but at least it wont be binding !! plenty of threads regarding bleeding, main thing is to unbolt the caliper and suspend it so the bleed nipple is at the top to help air escape. nice bike btw :)
