Newbie tyre size q...

J

Jussi

My MOT paperwork gives me a couple of tyre sizes.
Front 120/60 or 120/70
Rear 180/55 or 190/50

Currently there is 120/70 in front and 180/55 in rear.
I do not like the rear behavior ok it is Diablo Corsa and almost done, but it is so sensitive to cracks on tarmac specially if they are in zero angle from the tyre the back end travels with the cracks.

What is the verdict on these choises what is the size to choose?

Personally I would stick with the size you have at the moment. 190's can get chewed by the chain, so I hear.

These beasts are a little too happy to follow the cracks in the road but then again it's one hell of a tyre that we have fitted.

Corsa 3's are the tyre to have at the moment although I have Super Corsa Pro's fitted at present and they are pretty damn good. (In the dry)

Standard fitment is 120/70 x 17 front & 190/50 x 17 rear. I've had the original fit Metzlers on, 2CT's and now Pirelli Corsa III's and none have rubbed the chain. I have the new shape for info.

Pirelli also have an offer on the Corsa III's at the moment as well, check their web site.

Hey i just changed from a pretty bare 190 section diablo rear to a new 180/55Brigstone BT-021. The bike drops into a turn alot quicker and i generally much prefer the way it handles now. The old tyre was a little squared off so not totally comparable but i definately prefer the 180 and they are cheaper too!!
