Just to introduce meself, I bought my first aprilia just a couple of weeks back, it's a 2001 y plated rsvr in yellow, totally love it but have had very little opportunity to get out on it so far with the minging fog and drizzle. Need to get my suspension set up soon so pointers would be cool if anyone has any tips. I also think a couple of other bits and bobs need sorting, like balancing throttle bodies...anyone know how much this costs to get done?
Cheers all

Hey uglyfatfook :)

Look in the the mods section theres a great thread in there regarding suspensing set up i think its the first post ... Or the last depending how you look at it....

I think the key is getting the sag/preload correct for you once thats set up the bike will feel much better and then you can just tweak the rebound and damping to your preference... Go back to factory settings and experiment i think my rear is set 4 clicks harder than factory and my front 3 clicks harder.

To increase turn speed some ppl raise the rear or shorten the rake on the front ... Eg i hace 4rings showing on the front forks above the yoke where as factory settings is 3 rings.

Also look at your steering damper and most importantly make sure tyre pressures are correct.

I was running 30/32 out of habit then went to recommended 32/36 i think and it made a **** load of diffeence

Cheers for that Paul, top advice! If I can find where it states factory settings In the handbook I'll start there.

Hey Griff, how much we talking for the TB set up? Not even sure they need doing really but would like someone to take a look. I'll try to get a day off to pay a visit, I'm not a million miles away.
