Hi guy's 'n' gals,
Dunno why I haven't been involved with this forum before as I got my first Mille-R in '03 (px'ed in '07) and currently have a brill '02 RST Futura and my most recent acquisition, an '08 RSV100R Bol D'Or with added Carbon Akras and Ohlins steering damper... and she's only done 2400 miles too! I have dabbled with other makes, my missus and I went over the Alps on a 750SS Duke, we went to southern Spain on my old Suzy TLR (belting engine but wouldn't go around corners!) and I even recently had an XV1700 Yamaha Midnight Warrior. So you can definitely see I'm a V-Twin fan and the Mille has the best as far as I'm concerned. I also owned a Yamaha XJR1300 and I've been in councelling ever since! :doug
Cheers,

Hi mate. welcome.
Can i ask what you paid for the Bol D'Or as i am thinking of getting rid of mine due to a change of job it is now just a toy, its a 2008 with 2000 miles on it so should be comparable.
cheers

Welcome matey, certainly the best coloured RSV :)

I reckon some wrong person maybe along soon to say different :devious

Cheers guy's, the Futura's really neat too, it's done about 15K and is in great nick. It's ideal for the odd trip abroad. The last time, my missus and I took the Yellow Mille-R and travelled to Santander on the ferry from Plymouth and then went down through Salamanca and into Portugal. We did Lisbon, Sintra, Obidos, and on up the coast to Porto, then round the north coast of Spain and back to the ferry. It nearly killed me on the Mille, with my missus and all the luggage etc. on the back... too much like hard work! Hopefully, it'll be better on the Futura, we hope to travel the west coast of France next Easter, riding down the coast to Bordeaux then back more through central France. Anyone done it before and got any recommendations for hotels etc.?

Oh, I prefer the riding position of the old Mille-R, mainly 'cos I'm a big fat lump and it doesn't seem as quite as race radical as the new one... either that or it's me being even fatter than when I had the Mille-R?? (probably!). But I prefer the power delivery of the Bol as it doesn't seem as lumpy at lower revs, sort of smoother somehow... maybe it's the mapping, I dunno?? As far as the price goes... including new tyres, all the original pipes etc. and a Datatool S4 alarm, it cost me about £1500 on top of my 2007 Yamaha XV1700 Midnight Warrior (which had A LOT of money spent on it!) Now, if only I could remember how much I got for that????? :dunno
