Hi all,

I have just joined the forum after treating myself to a 12 plate Tuono V4 APRC in yellow.

A bit about me.

I've been riding bikes for years, I was a two smoke fan when I started and owned an RD125 DX (only brand new bike I've ever owned) as TS250 and an RD350 YPVS.

I then had a break from bikes for a bit, but bounced back in the early 90's with a GPZ 900r A7. I ran that bike for a few years then had another break (family commitments) before getting a ZX9R C2. What an underrated bike that was :thumbup after the 9 I took the step up to litre bikes and bought a GSXR 1000 K4.
Now I thought the 9 was quick, but this thing was a whole different level :crazy
I kept the gixxer till it tried to kill me in 2009 (ok it wasn't the bikes fault, I ran out of talent on a bend and highsided at around 80 ish)
A week after getting out of hospital (7 broken ribs, flai segment, punctured lung, fractured vertebrae) I did a deal on an 04 R1. I could barely stand up,, but couldn't live without a bike :thumbup
So from September 09 until last Friday I owned that R1 and thoroughly enjoyed it. i extensively modified it to suit me, but I was finding myself more and more uncomfortable on it and started looking for something a little more upright, but retaining the bonkers nature of the R1.
That's what led me here :thumbup

I love the Tuono, my shortlist before buying the Tuono were: Superduke R and the V4.

No contest really, the Superduke is a great bike, but the Tuono is way way more powerful and has way more equipment. I did consider holding out for the SD 1290R, but spec and availability are still sketchy at best and after talking to my local dealer it looks like the price tag will be around 14k.

I look forward to picking your brains over the coming years.

Steve

And of course the Tuono :thumbup

Hello mate welcome to the forum. I'm sure the v4 will keep you entertained 1 way or another.

My last ride was also the mighty r1, although mine was year 2003 in silver. I loved that bike but like you wanted to be more upright and comfy. Picked up a nice gen 2 tuono and love it. its not as quick or as well built as the 1ner, but for me the t has **** loads more character and wins hands down in the looks department Imo.

Welcome again.:thumbup

Awricht Steve, just shows how small the world is when I bump into you near Killin. Lovely sounding bike the V4.
