Hi to all,
in keeping with site protocol and being a `newbie` I would like to introduce myself. I have been an Aprilia owner for over five years now, albeit a 250 Sport City scooter (which is my daily winter commuter and I love it !!!) I also have a 2000 R1 (last of the viscous carb models lol ) and a 97 VFR750 FV which I recently streetfightered. Having completed that and having ridden and admired friends Aprilia V twins I thought it was about time I had one of my own. So I am now the new owner of a 2007 Tuono which when running ( will save that for another post as I am currently in the process of performing electrical and mechanical surgery on it ) is an absolute blast and is without doubt one of the best bikes I have ever ridden. Have already fitted s/s rad cover (Still trying to undo the seized bolts to the fit oil cooler covers !!!:crazy) larger tinted screen, Delkevic s/s & carbon cans. Am awaiting crash bobbins. Will try and post some piccies now that I`ve worked out how it all works lol
Anyway best wishes and safe riding for 2016.:thumbup

Hi and welcome to the fun world of Tuono's.
Great intro and bike selection.

Cheers fella`s and thanks for the welcome. Will no doubt be hoping to call on the the forum and members for some experience and insight at some stage :thumbup:cheers

Greetings & best wishes.
R1 looks class mate.
Is the bike on Map 2 with the different cans on? Does make a difference if not.

Hey up & welcome pal, :thumbup

Nice collection of bikes !!

I've also got an R1, 2006 5vy model.

Cheers `grin factor`,
have owned the R1 for about 9yrs. It`s taken a while but I`ve pretty much done all I can to it and even though I`m getting a bit old for sports bikes I just can`t bring myself to ever let it go. Have been down to Spain and the Pyrenees two or three times on it as well as Assen a few times and it ticks along quite nicely :thumbup
As for mapping on the tuono, I`ve not touched it. It seems to run fine (When it`s going) but I had a lot of trouble starting it recently. It was running OK when I put it to sleep in the garage but just would not start a couple of days later. I could hear the fuel pump prime, engine would turn over but wouldn`t fire. Up until then it had always started straight away. Anyway I put a new battery on it just in case but that made no difference either. Found the `pendulum` switch and checked that was OK along with the side stand and the kill switch. All of those were fine. I have now at last managed to get it fired up and I`m of the opinion that it`s electrical and there may be a pinched wire shorting somewhere. Everything is working as it should whilst upright in the garage. Am reluctant to put it back together properly until I have dug deeper. Gonna have the tank off and change the plugs as I`m halfway there already plus have a good look at the wiring around the headstock. Has anyone had anything similar ???? I let you know how I get on but I doubt it will be until the weekend.

Good luck finding the problem. They can be a bit fickle, and do need a fully charged battery to crank them over. I used to keep mine on an optimate charger.

Welcome, you will find this place and it's members the font of all Tuono knowledge

Hi @grin factor,
following on from your comment about setting the bikes mapping to `Map2` is this something that has to be done at the dealer or is there an option within the settings menu ? Have got bike up and running again ( I have no idea what I did but it just works !!!! ) but it pops and bangs on the overrun or engine breaking which is fine but it then seems to have a bit of a `miss` or holds back and wants to stall unless I give it a big handful of throttle. It doesn`t do it every time but at least 50% of the time though. Was also considering it could be a coil breaking down or an HT lead ???? Gonna put the original cans back on and run it like that for a few days and see if the problem clears, if so then it sounds like a mapping issue ????
Regards
Steve.:thumbup
