Hi. My name is Chris. I picked up a 2004 RSVR Factory for a decent price on Saturday and have been digging for info. I came across the site a few times and wanted to say thank you for all the good information. Hopefully I can help a few people here in return. In a nutshell, I bought the bike with a wiring issue thinking it was the brown connector. It turns out there are some gremlins living in this girl. I have been riding and wrenching for over 15 years on dirt bikes, atvs, and 6 years on street bikes. This is my first exotic and I'm not sure what to think of it yet. The wiring harness issues on these bikes are insane! Thanks again.

Hi,

What problems are you having?
I'm an electrical numpty however but someone else may be able to point you in the right direction :D

I think I have it figured out. I checked the immobilizer and it was good. There is a plug in the rear that connects the fuse box to the battery and feeds the harness with power that was fried. After fixing the connection, the check engine light cleared. The PCIII wont light up and where it connects into the TPS is fried. I ordered another harness and a new PCIII. I was able to get the custom map from the old PCII and put it on the new. Seems to run ok now but it surges at low RPM with steady throttle. How can you tell if the old PCIII is good? Dynojet is being a turd about it.
