New Tyres??

Loadsa threads on here about tyres, but the Maxxis seem very good especially given their cost.

Metzeler are made by Pirelli but in a differant part of the factory.
 
Doh!!! My girlfriends Dad works at Avon in Melksham and said he can get me anything from there. Not sure what people think of Avon's? Read some good stuff in mags and there motorsport involvement goes back a long way.

I might call him and see what he can do? Maybe a group buy could be possible :dunno

if you can get the avon's cheap go for the new avon av60 supersports. they are dual compound (like most are these days). i got them after my usual supplier ran out of michelin 2ct's which i usually have. i've done a few hundred road miles and 2 trackdays on them and i can highly recommend them. warm up quick and give massive grip, and they were £25 cheaper than the michelins.
 
Cheers Dan. It could prove to be a good discount i think. He will get as many sets as i want as well so might be worth asking on here.

Enquiring minds need to know :devious

I have to say that I really rate Avon Storms on the big SV, they give good grip,and ride quality wet or dry and they warm up quickly as well.

A mate of mine has them on his 'busa and Sp1 and he is a fast rider who's tried most types. He won't use anything else now.

I've done about 1000 miles and 3 track days on my Storms now and they are still looking good.
 
let us know when you get a price :thumbup or does it depend how many people want them?
 
I should know tomorrow so will let you guys know. Hopefully it will be good as they sound ace. I also like the idea of supporting a british company making stuff that is a match for everything else out there.
 
I had Avon viper sorts on a recent trip to germany and the ring and they were ace!!! started "melting" a little on the very edge of the rear after the ring lap so are definately soft enough for hard going!!!!
 
Well the deal is there FREE, although they are factory seconds (small imperfection on logo or the like!) :doug

Will have to see what he can do for anyone else. Ill post a new thread if it a goer:thumbup
