Right, I have a need for guidance on my next purchase and before you all say 'Read the previous posts' I have.
I have managed to beg, borrow and steal almost £200.00 without my missus catching me. I had a bit of a do last weekend and fooked my rear tyre and I am now in the market for some new tyres.
Currently I have Pirelli Super Corsa Pro's fitted and if I am to be honest, they are never going to be used in full by me. They were fitted when I bought the bike and had been ragged by someone on a track, the rear right hand edge had cold tears in it as long as your arm and had worn more on that edge too. It is worn so badly that it spins up when powering out of a corner and feels horrible when tipping the bike in to a right hander.
My points are:
1. Do I really need to spend all my money on Corsa 3's or 2CT's when I am just your average rider. Surely a set of pilot sports or D208's would suffice for me?
2. I only cover around 2000 miles a year or slightly over, most of it done on local roads in the summer. Never gonna do track days on my bike so my need for a high performance tyre is pretty much zero.
Your input would be much appreciated, experience of tyres is something I don't have, due to me not doing many miles a year.
