Goddammmmm was looking forward to a day out and pulled off 6mph round the bend and CRASH, lost both wheels :dowhat out from under me. I was being as cautious as possible !!!

ouch! there was a heavy frost this morning in kent...wouldnt have gone out till it warmed up a bit especially with spanking new tyres

easy for me to say...but more to the point

injuries? damage ?

Too slow for major damage, but having the bike go on you is still crappers.
Broke mirror, indicator, bent handlebar, snapped brake lever and scuffed plastics even more.

Hurt my flippin side and hand but my head didn't hit the ground so saved my helmet. Got the bike in bits at the moment.

Ahhh man!! I feel for you...that's a sure fire way to put you in a foul mood! So any theories why it happened? Frost or diesel or just new tyres? I know one thing the salt that they put on the roads is lethal when it's damp- really greasy! They used to use blitzed up cows intestines mixed in with the salt to help it stick to the road but they stopped due to the stink so God knows what they use now but its slippy.

On a side note I ordered 2 new oem mirrors complete with all fixings for £21 so don't get caught out by the crazy prices on e-bay etc

Damn! Throttle sticks with the bent clip on. Anyone have one for sale close to |Sevenoaks Kent?

Quick fix tip......get the bar off the bike..fork and onto a workbench of some sort with a vice or grip.... get a similar sized bar that is qiute long for leverage that is either just tto large or small thats fits then bend away :)
U might need a bit of heat to make things easier :)

Not a recommended fix but should get you out of the the predicament ur in!!

Tried that with a blow torch aswell - metal started to tear!! so cannot straighten at all ;o(

I did the same on Thursday. First day of the year out on bike...

Mine was definitely new rear tyre - pulling out of junction and ended up facing 180 degrees the wrong way. Luckily my crash bungs took the grunt of the fall and my bars just needed a bit of persuasion with some scaffold bar.

Lesson learnt -:roll
