New tyre punctured!

Took the T out at the weekend to scrub in a new set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa's, less than 100 miles later, the rear is completely flat with a hole slap bang in the middle of the tyre! :banghead
My mates carried on to a nearby bike shop and got one of those puncture repair kits with the rubber bungs, glue and CO2 canisters. 10 minutes later back on the road, and so far I've had no loss of pressure. Anybody used these before? Should I get it repaired professionally or are these repairs just as good?

Took a few snaps while waiting of a flat tyre in the flat Fens!!

they are pretty good, ive used them on a few occasions but there a temp fix,get it fixed properly asap,
when the tyre gets hot with hard use it heats up and they can come out, thats why your not meant to do over 50mph,
some dealers or tyre companys will refuse to repair a puntured bike tyre with a high rating but most will,
nowt worse cos its always in the back of your mind but the mushroom plugs are very good and they should be ok near the centre of the tread

:cheers

Hi dazzza69. Same thing happend to me at the weekend but managed to get enough air in it to get home. Went to see the guys I bought the tyre from and they said Pirelli did not recommend repairs to these tyres, so they wouldn't do it. He suggested that I could have it repaired elsewhere, but did I really want to. I guess not. Fine that'll be 145 notes sir.

Been told the same thing from large dealership, my local (friendly!) smaller bikeshop said they would repair it no problems. I ran a repaired tyre on the back of my ex gixxer thou with no issues, although I was paranoid about it going down!! Think I'll try a repair first as the tyre is virtually brand new.
Cheers :cheers
