The map2 wotsit is dealer only I think.

As for free/cheap mods you'll have to scour the pages, my Gen1 had a few common ones done already - improved starter relay, battery, brown connector mod etc.

Most of the mods revolve around starting/charging issues as they are temperamental italian ladies :)

Nice looking bikes btw and welcome to the forum :thumbup

Its probably on map 2 unless you put the Akras on.
PS Welcome to the site. Be nice to everyone and read a few posts otherwise you'll get told to **** Off. Frame colour is the post to read to find out what I mean.
There really are some guys on here that know what they're on about. If you want to know about rear Shock then Mister is your main man hahahaha

Eh up dude. Just thinking about summat u said ages ago. u think your exhaust is loud enough as it is. My standard one was like a bloody sewing machine. Do u think yours might have been cored?

welcome on board, nice bike although its widely believed the blue and white ones are a tad faster :)

Gman I bet you have a Blue and White one don't u. That myth was made up by Blue and White owners as we all know the black ones are faster as I overtook a Blue and White one the other day.

Ahh bay you would be correct! When you went past the blue & white one was it at a filling station as you went by per chance!
Now wishing I rode to work this morning as its nice and sunny in Watford and the temp guage is almost at double digits :(
Cant wait to have an opinion on the rear shock and join in the fun on the other post!!

I dunno matey? Its plenty loud enough. I certainly wouldn't say its sewing machine like put it that way!!

Actually it was Wiskin not Mister that people need to speak to about rear shock. He's got a good standard one on his bike apparently.

PS no it wasn't at a filling station it was doing 70 round a bend as I cruised by and gave him a little wave.

nice one bay, if it was down south it could well have been me you went past when I took it out for its maiden voyage, need to break myself in :)

Nah I stay around the nice roads in Wales and stick to saneish speeds. I didn't say which way around the bend i was going ;)

Cheap/free mods.

Drop the yokes down the forks for faster turn in, max 4 rings showing.
spend £20 and have the suspension set up properly
Count sprocket teeth front and back you want 15 front, 40 rear is standard, 42 is way more fun.
A taller front screen - either puig or Ermax will improve wind blast for most people.
Make sure you have an optimate type trickle charger for it, and use it every time you put it away.

More expensive recommendations.
Rear Shock - the stock one is poo
Uprated clutch slave cylinder - save arm ache in traffic
R&G crash bungs - save it in a car park topple.
Aprilia perfomance rearsets - sorts out the back (non) brake and look the bollocks
Hooked (Rene) Airbox - love that induction roar

more money
Forged wheels - lighter - better handling
Revalve forks

Hi m8 welcome to the forum

To explain "map 2"

Aprilia have set two maps in the ecu, map 1 is for the standard cans and makes use of the lambda sensors etc

Map2 is how aprilia wanted the bike to be without euro restrictions, so if you put a can etc on it you get the dealer to switch it over and whooooommmmmmmm :thumbup

Welcome. As you can see by some of the replies, there are some "strong" personalities here. Good thing I'm not one of them. Have fun on your T. Despite occasional glitches, we all love our bikes.
