Hi Everyone,

I am the new owner of a 2007 Tuno. This is my first Aprilia, and my first V-twin.

I'd be grateful for any advice, suggestions, or feedback from others on things to be aware, good or bad, as I'm coming from a couple decades as a Japanese sportbike rider.

I hate to admit it, but I'm already stumped with a display reading... when first turning on the ignition, there are two letters, an S and a T to the right of the spedo... they do go away after about 15 seconds, and no other waring lights or fault lights are on, but i can't figure out what they represent, even thought I've read the manual from front to back...?

Also, what are the mods considered worthwhile? I've got a K&N air filter in, but everything else stock so far...?

Thanks, look forward to being a member...

I always thought that was for the stand being down

some mods I have done

levers
pipes
map 2
pcV and tune coming
rad and oil cooler guards
complete slider kit
exhaust hangers
rear cowl
front forks rebuilt with ohlins internals
rear ohlins shock with remote adjuster

Hi there, welcome to the Darkside.

If it's an R model, the rear shock is a good upgrade, Ohlins or equivalent.
Check out AF1, when I upgraded Liz's the shocks were £700 in the UK and £400 from the states :rolleyes

Still can't get my head around the fact that a component manufactured in Sweden was cheaper from Texas

it's a 2007 R, just over 3000 miles, first thing I replaced all fluids, used the Motul 10-40 semi-synthetic (and K&N oil and air filter), Motul RBF 600 dot 4 for the brakes and clutch, and Engine Ice for coolant.

Is there a good method for bleeding the back brake... I have the service notice, and followed what it said, but still can't get a good bite... have placed a 20 pound weight on the lever overnight, will see if that helps things...?

Welcome to the house of fun mate.
The back brake is **** on all T's. Thats just the way they are.
Why are you changing all the fluids? Has the bike not been serviced? And Aprilia recommend 15/50 oil

Ditto what GF said. I use the weight-on-the-pedal method myself every so often. Don't know if it makes much difference though.:dunno

My next major upgrade in order to support my fat ***. Anyone ever gone with Bitubo or Maxtons?? Pros? Cons?
Think I better do the fork springs as well. :)
