Just taken ownership of 2005 RSV 1000 and after to say after 1st weekend riding, very impressed.

this is my second bike (or as my other half calls it my 'selfish bike') I also have a CBF1000 for touring. Am planning to take CBF abroad in June, through Northern Spain and France.

setting/adjusting the clocks. The dash looks like 2003 RSV Mille. Can you someone advise what each button does, ie A, B, R, C, D

Also what is the best setting for the redline indicator, it is currently set at 6000 rpm

thanks for this, but the clocks are different. I have tried searching but just keep coming up with same manual. Will get a few more rides, weather permitting to get used to it, and see if anything needs adjusting. Bought it from a friend who has just got the brand new model. He didn't any manual or instructions with it and just left all settings as he bought it. I like to have my bikes set up for my preferences

I had my rev warning light set at 6000, cos I thought above that would mean I was burning too much fuel. But I have (after reading a post on here I think) started completely ignoring that and am exploring around the 7000rpm mark now. I think set it at 8000rpm..

This sounded so wrong to me.... had a look on youtube:

Reading the spec of a 2005:

"The RSV Tuono uses the Austrian built BRP-Rotax 'V990' 60° V-Twin engine which can also be found in numerous other Aprilia models. It sports dual overhead cams, double balance shafts, 4 valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, twin spark ignition. In the RSV Tuono, the V990 delivers 92 kW (125 PS; 123 hp) @ 9500 rpm and 10.3 kg·m (101 N·m; 75 lb·ft) @ 7250 rpm"

why set the light so early @ 6k ..... keep it in a "sweet spot" or something ?

I'm pretty sure I increased mine to 6000, but I just left it there to remind me to drive as economically as possible, most of the way along my commute I'm in traffic, between 3000 and 5000 anyway, unless I want a quick blat. Perhaps I'm riding it wrong, but it feels all-right to me.

Never mind the light just crank it up and keep yer eyes on the road.

I think that 6k rpm is the 'running in' threshold. Its also the default setting if the battery is disconnected.
FWIW,...maximum power for the T is quoted at 9500rpm.

I have a pdf handbook somewhere.

Running in threshold is indeed 6000, then 7500 then 10500.

Default when the battery is disconnected being 6000 would make sense as I have had the battery out a few times and have only set it as 6000 once.
