New Tuono owner and my first question

I bought a 2009 tuono R and was exited when I test rode it never slowed down.
But on my way back, I see that the accelerator was not behaving as expected. A small twist seems to give a minor (very minor) boost and then a dip and then the engine wakes up and starts pulling. I am not sure if this is expected behavior or something that has been discussed before and solved.

This only happens when I open up the throttle slowly.

Any help guys?

What revs does this happen at?
I normally give a big twist of the throttle, but have never experienced this.
Are the standard cans on? If so, the previous owner may have had after market ones fitted & the bike could still be on map 2, which could cause this as fuelling will be rich.

if it's between 3-4 k revs, you got a flat spot. also check no-ones bunged a power commander on there - mine does that ands it's intentionally lean below 4 k.

I havent paid attention to the RPM yet, I am out and will check on Monday. It could very well be that the previous owner had put something on it, will have to check.

No, it will have to go on to the Axone/Navigator.....you will need an Aprilia specialist to do this.....most bike workshops haven't got one.
Whereabouts are you from? Then maybe someone can point you to a dealer or workshop with the correct gear.

I am in LA, CA
As has been mentioned, the stock map is very lean and causes "snatchiness" at lower rpms. I felt this most in slow to mid speed corners going from closed or neutral throttle to rolling on the throttle.
Was very hard to be smooth, installed Leo Vince slip-ons and switched to map 2 and a CO setting change by my mechanic and it was cured!

If I were in LA, I'd to go see Amauri Nuñez.

Thanks everyone, yes this happens between 3-4k RPM. I will check to see what I can do maybe like what jmardy mentioned, I might have to switch cans (also a good excuse). The stock cans make it sound like a scooter :)
