Hi to everyone! Just got myself a 2007 Tuono :thumbup with 5000 miles and it is taking a bit of getting used to, also appear to have a bit of a problem so if anyone knows the solution please help!! I was messing around with the computer and it was working fine until I went to the code section of the menu, I was attempting to install a new code but noticed I was in the wrong menu, I was in the menu for installing the original code and had entered either one or two digits then panicked and switched off the ignition!! So now when I switch ignition back on in 'mode' setting it takes me to the 'menu' and highlighted is 'exit' but when I press the button to confirm 'exit' nothing happens, I have tried disconnecting then reconnecting the battery and it still comes up the same........help!!:banghead

Welcome JimMc,
dont know about the issue you have created, but the only advice can offer is :-

Stop fiddling with things that are not broke !!!

Go and oil your chain, cut the grass, paint the house.

Thanks for the welcome mate!! Chain oiled, no grass to cut, house defo dosen't need painted but the computer on the bike is 'broke' :bawling

welcome on board mate and as Olaf stated stop fiddling.
if you have both keys you will be able to go back to the menu and continue as follows, go into the menu with the original key inserted then remove the key and insert the spare key within 20 seconds, it will then ask you to input a new code.
failing that take it into your nearest dealer and they will clear the computer of your error for around £30 of your hard earned cash

Hi Brooksy and thanks for the welcome, as I've said I can't get the comp to 'exit' its frozen on the exit part of the menu so can't even manage to get to the menu to input new code, set clock, check batt voltage etc etc, so looks like it will be a dealer visit! Also finding rear suspension rock hard, previous owner had preload wound right up, so have set back to factory setting as per manual but still feels a bit too hard! Not settling into Tuono ownership well at the moment, hope it improves as I don't want to regret parting with my Busa as I am beginning to feel like that just now!!

The previous owner done exactly the same to the suspension on mine mate and after i wound it off it settled after a couple of runs. have a flick through the thread below as its got a couple of good links attached reference suspension. as for the settling into Tuono ownership class these as teething problems mate, Ts can be a bit of a Marmite thing but evry time you get back from a ride you know why you have one.

good luck :thumbup

Hi and welcome to the forum sorry I cant help with the problem you have I havent even fiddled with the settings yet on mine perhaps I wont now !! Dont give up on the T, at worst its £30 for dealer to fix or someone will come along with the answer on here. Suspension is taking bit of setting how I want as well but its no big problem just needs a few tweeks sorted !!

Hi and welcome, have you tried keeping the button pressed for 5 seconds or so ? that might do it !!

That should get you out of that menu. I assume you have tried to start the bike? If it runs, leave the buga alone, if not I'll give you £10 for it

Welcome JimMc. Persevere with the T, once you've got your teething troubles sorted out (and you will) you'll soon realise what awesome bikes they are!!:thumbup

Thanks again guys for the words of wisdom, I will get the teething probs sorted......however.... the handling issue is slowly but surely getting there!.....I bought my bike last week from a non franchised dealer in Carlisle and was assured 'the bike's been through our workshop' fresh MOT etc, I think what he meant was we wheeled the bike into the workshop, started it up, looked at it and wheeled it back out to the forecourt for me to pick up!!! If the service dept was this inept I wouldn't take my bike there for a service. First of all, when I got home about 140 mile ride I checked the chain and there was about 65-70 mm of free play.....and bone dry....you guessed it the chain is goosed! The preload on the rear suspension was way too hard, it was like riding an ironing board!! so I put it back to standard and have started to dial it in to my weight etc, I also found the back brake was useless, so I've stripped out the pads, pumped out the pistons a tad and cleaned them, cleaned the brake pad pin, re-assembled with fresh copper greaser and hey presto... a rear brake!! Also a bit of a schoolboy error here..now now please no piss taking .... .....I checked the tyre pressures just as a last resort...... 18 psi front and 36psi rear! So now with 36 fr and 40 rear the bke actually goes around corners!!!:yes I have also managed to persuade the dealer where I bought the bike to provide a new chain and I've ordered a 41 t rear sprocket and will fit the 15t front........ I will now get the suspension setup sorted at ERS racing at knockhill race circuit also hope to have new cans soon too!! thanks again for the advice........incidentally 5 second reset dosen't work either so dealer it has to be!!!

If you are looking for a set of cans, have a look in the for sale section, a set of Akkras have just gone on

JimMc, rear sprocket upgrade is normally to a 42t or is that a typo? what cans are you looking for as i may know someone with a set of akras for sale lol
as for the tyre pressures mate you said it 'schoolboy error'

Aye will get some cans soon but just having bought the bike etc will have to wait until I save enough, yea its a 41t rear as advised by the race tuning specialist at Knockhill, in fact he said the 40t standard with 15t front would be fine but as a compromise 41t would be okay so will let you know how it goes with that gearing. Also what tyres do you guys find good, got Dunlops which are Kak and don't really heat up very well, think I'll change to Pirelli Angels when these give up the ghost which will be ....sooon!!!

Yeh i strip my back brake & clean it (which is great BTW) every 6 months. New pads at 7,500 miles - that good!

Jim - take the bike back mate - get it sorted by the dealer or ask for money back. If you can show condition when you picked it up, they are putting your life at risk! Strong words but its not worth keeping it if you feel that way!

PS NAme & shame the feckin stealer i say - so I don't go there (I live in West Cumbria)

Good man see your hooked already, cans, seat cowl, shiny things its just how it is isnt it !! Once set up and sorted you will love it I'm sure. Front tyre pressure was really noticeable on my RSVR even couple of pound and it felt weird certainly felt weird when it punctured on a rabbit bone !!Bet it feels like new with correct pressure.

I know whay you mean Bandito, now makes sense as to why I got the best deal nationally on the T, I really can't be bothered with a long drawn out argument with a dealer and will just persevere to have my bike sorted, anyway they sold my Busa the day after I traded it in, it was immaculate, I will sort the T out in a short space of time as I used to have a Mille R and it handled superbly so I will get my T sorted, but will let you know the name of dealer if you p.m. me as I still have a warranty with the dealer....for all that may be worth!!

Yea Saga, I am happier now with correct tyre pressures, will just need to build confidence after a few unsettling moments with the bike, but now beginning to lust after after market bits now:biggrin
